President
Kim began his professional career with Indusco, an affiliated company of GL Rogers and Company in 1985. He spent the bulk of his career in construction and staffing, spending a few years as a surety bond underwriter followed by ten years as owner of a construction services company in Seattle and then ten years with the Labor Ready division of True Blue, Inc. as District Manager and Regional Sales Director in Washington State, Arizona and then the southern U.S. region. True Blue (NYSE:TBI) is one of the largest private employers in the U.S.
Kim joined GL Rogers as President in August of 2011, assuming the role from his father, George Rogers. Under Kim’s leadership, the GL Rogers team has nearly tripled the assets under partnership ownership and management. This growth was accomplished through three successful private equity offerings and by repositioning commercial real estate assets to reflect the continuing growth of the on-line economy and reflect the influence of changing demographics on spending patterns.
Kim graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire, and from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, with a BA in Economics and Administrative Sciences. He was Board Member of the Workforce Housing Coalition of the Greater Seacoast of Maine and New Hampshire for 9 ½ years and was President of the Board for 7 years of that term. He is a past Board President of Kadima and also of a self-funded alumni scholarship program for Phillips Exeter, both in Seattle, Washington. He has been an alumnus admissions interviewer for Phillips Exeter as well. Kim lives in Portsmouth with his wife, Ania, and enjoys golf in New England and in Arizona where they have a second home.
